The Greengate Team

Greengate is a privately run company established in 2005. We create quality accommodation and care options for seniors, offering independent and assisted retirement living plus 24-hour aged care in all of our communities.

We are hands-on through the entire value creation process, from identifying the best locations to the planning, design, sales and marketing, and ongoing management of the village and aged care home. Our team brings together a wealth of experience from backgrounds in architecture, development, management, hospitality and clinical aged care.

Board of Directors

CONSISTS OF ORIGINAL FOUNDING SHAREHOLDERS AND OTHER NON-EXECUTIVES.

Andrew Sweeney, Howard Smith and Matthew Fisher came together in 2004 with an innovative vision of creating integrated care communities. After over ten years as executive directors creating a number of vibrant award winning new communities, they are now Non-Executive Directors focused on governance and direction of the Greengate Group with Non-Executive Director Michael Hoffman, a representative of shareholder Myer Family Investments.

Greengate’s collective governing body is the Board of Directors, supported by the Executive Leadership Team and National Leadership Team. The non-executive board provide a mix of skills with over 30 years cumulative experience in governing and managing aged care and retirement operations.

Through the governance structure there is a diverse mix of business acumen covering people, clinical, operations, finance, sales and property management.

All governance starts in the board room where each month a strong focus is placed on people outcomes and clinical reporting. The board endorsed Clinical Governance framework and Philosophy of Care require that the group always has registered nurses on site 24 hours a day, every day and a conscious investment in additional care hours to try and support person centred care outcomes. Each aged care community is led by an experienced Director of Care who must be a Registered Nurse with over 15 years’ experience. Each Director of Care is supported by a team of carers, led by an experienced Registered Nurse. These principles all came out of the founding principles of Greengate Group, to provide a community that you would feel proud for your mum or dad to live in.

Ralph Warburton

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

With over 13 years’ experience supporting the transformation of aged care support, Ralph is passionate about improving the quality of supportive housing for Australian seniors. Ralph is committed to a resident focused outcome and to sustainably growing the further Greengate communities to meet the significant upcoming undersupply of quality residential aged care and retirement living villages.

Michelle Champ

CHIEF FINANICAL OFFICER

With 20 years’ experience in senior commercial finance roles, Michelle ensures quality and diligence in our financial processes and treasury management whilst supporting sustainable growth for the business. Michelle is a Certified Practising Accountant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Stewart Scott

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

With more than 20 years’ experience in property and business development including the past 14 at Greengate, Stewart has been intimately involved in creating the existing suite of boutique villages. He currently oversees all of the aged care and retirement operations leading a team of highly skilled professionals across clinical, services, property, customer relations, marketing, sales, food and hospitality. He is dedicated to making great communities, delivering exceptional care outcomes and building successful teams.

Catherine McMahon

HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Catherine has worked within Human Resources for over 20 years, the last 10 years as a member of a senior leadership team. She believes in creating supportive and inclusive workplace cultures where teams are empowered to use and develop their talents and bring their best selves to work. Catherine believes that in order to provide the best care and lifestyle outcomes for our residents, we first need to foster a team of happy and engaged employees. This is the philosophy and drive behind Greengate’s Best Workplace Award 2020.

Elizabeth Lenton

QUALITY & CLINICAL EDUCATION MANAGER

Elizabeth is a healthcare management professional with more than 20 years’ experience in acute and aged care settings. Elizabeth has worked in management, education and specialist Registered Nurse roles. She has also been an aged care accreditation assessor for the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. In her role as Quality and Clinical Education Manager, Elizabeth is driven to ensure our team members have the right knowledge to provide quality care and service, that reflects an understanding of each resident and Greengate’s values.

Paul Wilderbeek

NATIONAL FOOD SERVICES MANAGER

Paul has worked as a chef in Australia’s finest hotels and resorts for 40 years. He has been with Greengate for over three years and oversees our food offering as our National Food Services Manager. He has a great passion for good healthy and tasty food with penchant for baking. His mission is to lead his experienced team to ensure Greengate residents in both Brisbane and Sydney enjoy a variety of meals and snacks that are always fresh, nutritious and meeting residents dietary requirements. As Vice Counseiller de Culinaire of the Brisbane Chaine de Rotisseurs, Paul organises young chef competitions in his spare time. He also assists with bakery and cookery training at the Lotus Children’s Centre in Mongolia, an orphanage in the outskirts of the capital city Ulaanbaatar.

Megan Parnaby

HEAD OF CUSTOMER RELATIONS

Megan’s experience in the retirement and aged care sector spans well-over a decade, and she has proudly been part of the Greengate team for almost 5 years. Megan brings to her role a wealth of knowledge about all things aged care and retirement, as well as a kind and understanding nature that puts our residents at ease. Megan is the Licensee in Charge for Greengate Realty and leads the customer relations team for Greengate.

Stephen O'Brien

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Stephen has been Greengate’s Information Technology and Communications Manager for over 5 years. He is responsible for designing, implementing and operating the IT strategy across all three villages in both Sydney and Brisbane. Bringing his passion for technology, Stephen looks after all aspects of IT for Greengate, and is always looking for new and innovative solutions for our villages.
